Who needs a pool certificate?

A pool safety certificate is required under the following circumstances:

  • When selling a property
  • When buying a property
  • When leasing a property

Additionally, obtaining a pool safety certificate can provide you with a sense of assurance. This certificate serves as confirmation that, at the time of inspection by a certified pool safety inspector, your pool met the stipulated Queensland pool safety standards.

Validity periods for pool safety certificates are as follows:

  • Shared pools: Valid for 1 year
  • Non-shared pools: Valid for 2 years

Familiarise yourself with the QLD pool safety laws.

How do I know if my pool is already registered and/or how valid is my current pool certificate?

Obtain a copy of your pool safety certificate through the QBCC website by simply inputting your property address. If your property address is associated with an existing certificate, you will be able to access it on the site. Yet, if there isn’t a valid certificate connected to your address, you’ll be required to arrange a pool safety inspection.

What can I do for the pre-inspection process?

To support you with this, we have prepared a detailed checklist you as the homeowner can use prior to booking us in. We understand that this checklist is comprehensive, so please know that we are always here to answer any questions you may have prior to our scheduled visit.
